If you try to install OneDrive on a Windows 10 computer, you are likely to receive this error message – A newer version of OneDrive is installed ; You must uninstall it before installing this version . What does this mean and how can this problem be solved?
OneDrive is already installed as a preinstalled application on Windows 10. Microsoft has integrated the OneDrive Store edition into Windows 10 for ease of use. A new version of OneDrive is installed

Uninstall OneDrive from Windows Settings

Go to Applications > Applications & Functions.

Uninstall OneDrive with Windows PowerShell
You can open Windows PowerShell with administrative rights and run this command :
Discover now the PackageFullName of Microsoft OneDrive (in Windows PowerShell you can find it under the name of Microsoft SkyDrive). Therefore, enter this command:
Replace the PackageFullName with the original Microsoft OneDrive package name you copied from Windows PowerShell.
After uninstalling, you can download the OneDrive application here and use the executable without any problem. If you don’t want the executable and want a simpler option, you can also open Microsoft Store and download OneDrive from there.
