If you want the Disk Cleanup utility to run automatically from time to time, you can use the task scheduler. To do this, open Task Scheduler in the Control Panel. This article in How to Schedule a Task in Windows gives you more details. Click Create Basic Task. Give him a name and a description.
Select the trigger; in this case, the frequency. Click Next.
Since we selected Monthly, complete the other required information and click Next.
Select Start a program and click Next.
Since we want to run the disk cleaning utility, write C:Windows System32cleanmgr.exe and add the argument /sagerun:1. Since we saved the cleaning setting with the number’1′, we use the same number’1′ here. Click Next.
Check the summary. Select the Open properties check box and click Finish.
The Monthly Disk Cleanup Properties field opens, where you can see details such as triggers, history, general settings, actions, and conditions.
