Avira is no stranger to security products, and the latest offer from the German company is Avira Password Manager. Well, we’ve seen a lot of free password managers in the past, including my own KeePass, but the Avira password manager seems to offer some extra features and is trying to make itself heard in the password manager category.

You can now prevent PC problems by using this tool, such as protecting you against file loss and malware. Additionally it is a great way to optimize your computer for maximum performance. The program fixes common errors that might occur on Windows systems with ease - no need for hours of troubleshooting when you have the perfect solution at your fingertips:

The password manager is initially offered in two avatars, free and Pro. However, all Pro features will be activated by March 2017 as part of Avira’s launch offer. However, the limitations of the free version and the advantages of the Pro version have not yet been clarified in detail. However, features such as automatic password protection and synchronization on all devices and the ability to manage all passwords via the dashboard should stop working in the free version.
Commissioning
To start, you need to download the Password Manager Chrome extension and connect with your Avira credentials, if you don’t have any, it’s relatively easy to connect, and once you’ve done that, you can start. Avira Password Manager is available for Firefox, Scout browser, Android and iOS.
The installation is painless and after logging in, you will be asked for passwords and asked to save your account details. The best part is that Password Manager synchronizes seamlessly with other programs like LastPass, KeePass and even 1Password. Data can be imported with simple CSV files and restored in the Avira Password Browser.
Autoform also works on several pages, so it is quite easy to set and save a password. That is, it would have been great if the automatic password function had worked on most pages.
Functionality
The online dashboard is very useful, especially since it displays the details of your previous activity and the date of the last use of your account. Automatic disconnection is another useful function that ensures that the program locks itself during a predefined period of activity. For example, you can simply set the time to never, every 30 minutes, every hour, every hour, every 3 hours and even every 24 hours.
Login history lets you know when and from where the account was accessed and with the backup function, you can ensure that your data is backed up securely. The’Manage backup’ function allows users to restore and delete the account backup. Other options are Import data, Export data, Delete account and Language.
Packaging
Avira still needs to clarify which features are available for the Free and Pro versions. Even the password manager does not work on many pages, and Avira will probably clarify this in the future. Another problem I had with Avira Password Manager is that it doesn’t give me enough reasons to switch from my current password manager, and this can be a cause of contract breach for many.
