Can’t Install Windows Updates error 8007000E Fix

The error code 8007000e is received when Windows tries to check for updates via Windows Update. If you receive the Windows Update 8007000E error code when you check for updates, the Windows Update Store folder is probably corrupted and you need to recreate it.

Error 8007000E occurs when updating the Windows operating system. The error can also occur when the operating system searches for or installs updates in Windows Update Store.

Recreate the SoftwareDistribution folder

The SoftwareDistribution folder (C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution) is where Windows stores Windows updates. Sometimes this folder is corrupted and you need to recreate it to download and install updates from scratch.

Stop the Windows Update Service.

Open the Windows Services Control Panel: To do this:

Press Windows image_thumb8_thumb8_thumb + R to open the command box.
In the search box, type: services.msc and click OK.
(Accept the UAC warning when it appears).
Locate the Windows Update Service in the Service Control Panel.

Right-click on the Windows Update Service and select Stop.

Execute the DISM tool

This annoying problem is probably caused by corrupted Windows update files. In this case, running the Deploy, Maintain and Manage Images (DISM) tool can solve the problem. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions to run the DISM tool:

On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and the R key simultaneously to open the Run dialog box. Type cmd, then simultaneously press Ctrl, Shift and Enter on your keyboard to execute the command prompt as an administrator. We’re asking for your permission. Click Yes to execute the command prompt.
Enter the command lines one after the other on your keyboard and press Enter.
Close the command prompt when recovery is complete.

Disable or uninstall any third-party security programs

Third party antivirus, antimalware and firewall applications can sometimes collide with Windows Update and cause problems such as error code 0x8007000E. If a third-party security program is the cause of your problem, simply disable (or better yet, uninstall) any third-party security program installed on your computer. Once this is done, check whether the correction worked or not.
