In our previous contribution to managing the telemetry and data collection settings of Windows 10, we saw how to configure and disable Windows 10 telemetry and data collection for the entire system or for individual components on Windows 10. The same is true for Firefox, but the procedure is slightly different. Firefox Quantum, which claims to be more than twice as fast as its previous iterations, allows you to disable telemetry and data acquisition .
Disable telemetry and data collection in Firefox Quantum
The browser comes with some changes and privacy enhancements that you can access from the Settings page and that are configured so that the browser can control the type of data it shares with Mozilla and sends to Mozilla servers.
Start Firefox Quantum, select’Menu’ (3 items) and select Options. Then go to the’Privacy and Security’ section on the’Settings’ page. Here you can specify that Firefox can send technical data and interaction data, among other things. But even after setting these options, Firefox continues to collect and send data to the servers.
To completely disable telemetry and data capture in Mozilla Firefox Quantum, do the following
Type ‘about : config’ in the address bar and press Enter. If you are asked for a warning message, ignore it and continue. Click I accept the risk!
Enter telemetry in the search filter field and search the result :
