Cathy is very light, portable and of course a free CD – DVD indexer for your Windows computer. What it does is simply save the file names and formats and save them in a.caf file. It fully indexes the CD – DVD, including folders, then stores them in a single.caf file for a CD – DVD.
Cathy allows you to index your entire CD/DVD collection in seconds and search among them or browse the DVD without inserting it into your drive. You can also browse all DVD.caf and get all information about the location of the file and on which DVD.

The indexing process is very simple – just select the player you want to index in the’Catalog’ tab, give it a name and your comment, and click’Add’. The freeware starts indexing. You can now view your indexed DVD on your screen.
You can search your files on different DVDs and browse the DVD by going to the Catalog tab and double-clicking on an indexed DVD.

Cathy is very fast because she indexed an 8GB DVD on my PC in only about 15 seconds. The size of the.caf file recorded by Cathy is not high, because she indexed my 8GB DVD in a 19KB file and a 157KB file. The size of the application is not even that big, it is only 60 KB. Remember that you cannot open the file because it is only indexed and not copied.
The user interface of the application is quite user-friendly, but some may not like it because it has a spreadsheet.
