Microsoft Edge is the only browser available today that allows you to comment a web page directly on the screen and save your trademarks as notes or send them to other users. You can take notes, write, highlight directly on web pages or scribble on the web. For example, you can mark or circle the paragraph text that summarizes the entire passage, then send the page with tagging to your friends. The browser has a handy cutting tool, the ability to highlight text on a page and add comments!
To use the Web Notes feature, launch the Edge browser and open a web page of your choice. Click the’Create Web Note’ button .
Purple bar opens. This is the Note Compose mode and all tools are displayed directly below the title bar. The tools shown at the far left are displayed in the following chronological order.
- Possibility to use a pen on the page
- Option to comment the page
- Possibility to highlight texts on the page.
- Option to delete a note or marker
- Possibility to add a typed comment
- Cut part of the page.
It is important to note that each time you enter a comment in the field, all comments are assigned a number. This is possible as long as the comment tool is active. If necessary, you can also swap the position of the comments.
You can also select the color and shape of the selection (circle, rectangle) and annotate the tools by clicking on the corresponding tool in the displayed menu. When you are finished, you can easily keep the added notes on a web page sorted by folders.
The options on the opposite side, i.e. the right side, allow you to save the page with the changes made, share them with others or simply quit Compose mode.
You can share the web note with OneNote or send it to someone using the email application.
To exit note composition mode, simply click Exit.
