Microsoft has recently released several new updates for some of its core applications on Windows 10, including Movies & TV. The large extension of the Film & TV application under Windows 10 can be viewed as the dark mode or the dark theme. This article shows you how to enable or enable dark mode in Movies & TV app in Windows 10.
Enable dark mode in movies and TV applications
You can choose whether you want to use the new dark mode in the application or keep the current lighting mode using the application settings. You will also find additional keyboard shortcuts to improve playback.
Make sure you have the latest update of the Films & TV application. To check manually, click the Windows Store icon in the Windows 10 taskbar, then click the user account logo and select’Download and Updates’ from the list of options.
You will immediately find the list of applications for which updates are visible. Watch the movie and the TV update. Click the’Download Updates’ button associated with the’Movies & TV’ application. Wait for updates to be downloaded and installed.
Once the updates are installed, click the Start menu and select All Applications.
Scroll down to find movies and TV applications. If you find it, open it.
When the application appears, click Settings. If the program window is small, you may need to click the menu icon (the three horizontal lines), then select Settings.
Towards the end, you will notice the mode available for viewing. By default, the Light mode is enabled.
Select Dark to set the application’s Dark theme.
When you are finished, close the application. You can see the change when you restart.
You can now enjoy your favorite movie in the dark.
