Several times you need to download the ISO file from Windows 10 to install Windows 10 fresh on your PC. This could be because your Windows 10 upgrade did not go well or your existing installation was damaged and the only solution is to reinstall the operating system. Microsoft offers to download ISO files from its website, but only as the media creation tool. With this tool, you can create bootable USB sticks. The disadvantage of this method is that you have to download the files again and again when you need them. In this article, we talk about a way to download Windows 10 ISO files directly from Microsoft servers without using the multimedia tool.
Download Windows 10 ISO without using the media creation tool
For some reason, Microsoft has limited the download of the ISO file for the Windows system. If you use another operating system like MacOS, you can simply download the ISO file. This manual explains how to check Microsoft servers in order to directly download the Windows 10 ISO file. You can then create a bootable USB device with any tool.
Open Edge Browser and go to Edge options by clicking on the three points above and Development Tools. You can also call it with F12 on your keyboard.
Then open the official Windows 10 ISO download page here. It offers the possibility to download the media creation tool. Right-click a point on the page and select Check Item.
The debugging tool opens. In this tool, search the’Performance’ menu and look for an eject icon. Select Emulation.
The list of options appears in a stacked window. Here you must change User Agent String to Apple iPad (Safari).
As soon as you do, the page is reloaded. Instead of the Media Creation Tool option, you can download files directly to your Windows 10 PC. You can download the latest Windows 10 update.
This means that the process is totally legal and we do it in a way that we don’t have to download ISO over and over again.
Note however that the media creation tool has its own advantages. You always receive the latest and most recent files. If you are using an older ISO file, you may need to upgrade your Windows 10 to the latest version.
However, updating multiple PCs or a PC that does not have direct Internet access or is restricted is convenient.
