Error code 0xc00d11cd, 0x8000ffff; music cannot be played in Windows 8 Music App

The music application is one of the main native Windows 8 applications that users prefer today. However, there may be a situation where you will find that you simply cannot play music on the application. This could be due to corruption of registry settings. Today, I will discuss such an error and give you the opportunity to correct it.

As you can see in the image above, there is a problem and Windows cannot play. If you get this error on the surface tablet under Windows RT, restarting the tablet may be the cause. If you are using Windows 8 on your desktop, I suggest you try the following steps:

1 Press Windows + R combination, type Regedt32.exe in the Run dialog box and press Enter to open the registry editor.

2 Navigate to next register location:



(3 A DWORD named DisableProtectedAudioDG is located on the right side of this area. Since you are facing the problem, the DWORD has the value 1. Double-click to change it:

4 In the window above, enter the value of the data equal to 1. Click OK. That’s it! That’s it!

After its creation, it has the default value data (16) equal to 0, which works very well and corrects the problem automatically.
