Spotify Web Player may stop working for you with the following error messages: “Spotify Web Player an Error Occurred” or “Oooops, something went wrong. Reload”. This quick guide offers a simple solution.
Spotify Web Player is a browser-based player that allows you to stream Spotify through supported web browsers. You do not need to install Spotify applications with the Web Player. This makes using Spotify more convenient without having to install another application!
How to fix Spotify Web Player does not work
Install Firefox User Agent Switcher to fix “Spotify Web Player Not Working” for Firefox.
As I have already said, the solution to make the web drive non-functional is to install the User Agent for Firefox or Chrome.
Follow the steps below to install and configure Firefox User Agent Switcher:
- Open the Firefox browser (if you are not reading this manual from Firefox). Then copy this URL to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/uaswitcher/ and paste it into your Firefox browser.
- If you are reading this manual in Firefox, click on User-Agent Switcher (opens in a new tab or page) to open the add-on page. The next page opens.
- Click on Add to Firefox. Then click on Add in the confirmation window. Finally, in the Add-on Installation Confirmation pop-up window, click on Okay, Got It.
Delete browser cache files
Nowadays, many computers are trying to provide a better Internet service by caching web pages and associated data on the local computer. This speeds up the loading of the website. But sometimes, it can cache erroneous data or errors. This does not open the page. In this case, it is best to delete all cached data from your browser such as cookies, history, temporary files, etc. You can also empty the DNS from your computer.
Be sure to use a compatible browser.
The first thing to do if you are not using Firefox or Google Chrome when you receive the error message is to make sure you are using a browser supported by Spotify. If you are a Mac user and use the default Safari web browser, there is some bad news for you. The Safari browser is no longer supported by Spotify, and you must download Firefox or Google Chrome to access the web player, or you can simply download the desktop version of Spotify.
Spotify Web Player may not be perfect, as shown in the guide above, but with some optimizations and sharp folds, it does a pretty good job as a double for the full application. With its new design at the beginning of the year, it also looks much more like the Spotify application, which is a welcome change.
