Install the last patch for your game

If Battlefield 1 is out of date, it can lead to errors and security threats in the game. As a result, your game takes off, and this indicates that Battlefield 1 has stopped working. Under these circumstances, you need to install the latest patch for Battlefield 1. This will fix the bugs and may prevent the game from crashing.

You can check for updates on the official website or Origin, and then install all available updates. After the update, reboot your computer and run Battlefield to see if it works.

Update your video card drivers

An outdated graphics card driver may also cause a Battlefield 1 game failure. Updating the drivers may solve this problem whether you use an AMD or Nvidia driver.

Here are the steps to update the drivers manually:

  • Press the Windows key
  • Log in to Device Manager and press Enter.
  • In the Device Manager window, find the video card driver and click on it to expand the category.
  • Now right-click on the driver and select “Update driver”.
  • In the next window, click Find Automatically Updated Driver Software.
  • This will find and install a new version of this particular driver.

Disable XMP and/or SMT in BIOS

Update BIOS

XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) and SMT (Simultaneous Multithreading) are advanced BIOS settings that allow you to improve the performance of your RAM or processor. However, many users report that disabling one or both of these settings may prevent Battlefield 1 from failing. We strongly recommend that you disable them by following these steps.

  • Reboot your computer by going to Start >> Power Button >> Reboot.
  • Try to enter the BIOS settings on your computer by pressing the BIOS setup button during system startup.
  • The BIOS key usually appears on the main screen and says: “Press _ to enter the setup”. Common BIOS keys are F1, F2, Del, Esc and F10. So make sure that you press it fast enough, otherwise you will have to reboot your computer.
  • The XMP option you need to change can be found on different tabs in the BIOS tools on different computers from different manufacturers. There is no rule where the parameter should be.
  • You can usually find it in the advanced M.I.T. settings. >> or the different tabs for setting or overclocking that may be available. Regardless of where it is located, the parameter name is XMP Profile.
  • When you find the desired option, change it to Off.
  • Go to the Exit section and select Finish saving changes. This continues at startup. Make sure you try to check if Battlefield 1 works correctly.
