When updating Destiny 2, the initialization sometimes hangs. This can be very problematic, as normal fixes do not work and it becomes impossible to start the game. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to fix Destiny 2 if it hangs during the initialization.

Every time Destiny 2 gets stuck during the initialization process, you can try to solve this problem in several ways. One of the first ways is to reboot your computer and the Internet. This means that you have to close the office and shut down the modem or router for at least a minute.

Follow the instructions below to re-download the update as soon as possible.

• Stop the download.
• Click on the dial next to the download panel.
• Copy the installation path of Destiny 2.
• Close the application.
• Open the Destiny 2 folder using the installation path you copied.
• Change the name of the Destiny 2 installation folder to any other folder.
• Run the Battle.net application.
• Destiny 2 will now say “Installation”. Click on the “Install” button.
• It will show you the same installation path as before and ask if you want to install.
• Rename the installation folder of Destiny 2 to its original name.
• Start the installation.

Now you need to be patient, because Battle.net needs to check the installed files and the panel can be displayed during the initialization without moving, but something happens. This won’t take long and the problem will be solved and the update will be installed after the check is complete.

Rename the folder Destiny 2

This method is the first to solve the problem related to Destiny 2 hangs during initialization. Many users have proven to be effective.

• Stop the initialization process and close Battle.net.
• Browse to the Destiny 2 folder. Usually it is in C: \ Program Files (x86) . Then rename the folder Destiny 2.
• Open Battle.net and click “Install”.
• Change the folder name to Destiny 2.
• Click Start Installation.
• Please be patient, the process will resume from where you left off after checking your existing files. Then you feel good.

After successfully loading the program, it is recommended to update the driver to improve the performance of the game.

Run the Blizzard client on behalf of the administrator.

A problem with Destiny 2 hangs during initialization may be caused by permissions issues. You can try to run Blizzard Battle.net (a gaming platform on which you can play Destiny 2) as an administrator to solve this problem.

Step 1: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the task manager. On the “Processes” tab, right-click the Blizzard Battle.net application and select “Complete the task” to exit Blizzard completely.

Step 2: Right-click the Blizzard shortcut on the desktop and select “Properties”.

Step 3: Go to the “Compatibility” tab and enable the “Run this program as administrator” option. Then click Apply and OK to save the changes you made.

Step 4: Open Blizzard and run Destiny 2 to see if the problem has been solved.

Disable the third-party antivirus software

Some anti-virus applications may mark a running program as malicious, which may cause Destiny 2 to hang during initialization.
