STEAM detects if an update is available and automatically resumes it.

Once an update has been identified and installed, restart STEAM when you are asked to complete it.

If you still have the same problem, please send a support ticket for help.

Start the game from the game folder.

Instead of relying on Steam to run the game (which is a problem here), you can still use the executable file from the installation folder. To make things easier, create a shortcut on the desktop. Some games work better when they work with the Steam client, but this is not necessarily the case.

The game installation for Steam-based games is in the following path:

C:Program FilesSteam (x86)SteamAppsCommon

Open the Dead Cell folder and create a shortcut on the desktop from the deadcell.exe file. Try to start the game and look for changes.
