Internet protection is important for your computer because the main spreader of malware is the Internet. Therefore, if you have problems with your web protection settings, you should fix them as soon as possible.
There are two possible reasons why Malwarebytes Web Protection is disabled. Malwarebytes released a firmware update for its program in June 2018, which caused many people to have several bugs, including the problem of Malwarebytes Web Protection not activating. Another reason is that you downloaded another program that conflicts with Malwarebytes.
Run the program again on your computer
This is a simple troubleshooting process that will help many people around the world. It won’t take long and you won’t have to make any changes to your system. First, select the icon in the status bar and right-click it. Then select Malwarebytes and exit the program. Then restart Malwarebytes and see if the problem persists.
Update Malwarebytes to the latest version
There are several versions of Malwarebytes in which a particular problem occurs. Fortunately, the developers have immediately released updates and upgrades that can immediately fix the problem. This troubleshooting process is very successful for users. Of course, users will get a pop-up message when their system needs to be updated. Select the update popup and download the updated version.
Sometimes users may not receive the pop-up message because this feature is disabled. In such cases, open Malwarebytes settings and view the update application. Download and install it correctly. Check if the problem persists.
Try uninstalling the MBAM web protection driver
Some of you might think that after uninstalling the MBAM web protection driver, the program does not work at all. However, this will force the antivirus/antivirus software to install it on its own after restarting your system, and now your problem should be solved. Here are the steps to remove the MBAM web protection driver.
- Locate the Malwarebytes icon on the taskbar in the bottom right corner of your screen and click it. Then click on the “End Malwarebytes” option.
- You need to find the “Command Prompt” option and right-click on it. Now select the “Run as administrator” option. Copy and paste this sc delete mbamwebprotection command. Be sure to press the “Enter” button at the end.
- Now restart your system by selecting “Restart” from the “Start” menu tab. After restarting your system, reopen the Malwarebytes / Malwarebytes program as described in step 1.
- Go to the “Protection” tab under “Settings” and activate the “Internet Protection” option under “Permanent protection”.
You may not find a way to solve your problem with the solutions provided, but one of the above solutions will work for most users. If you have followed all the above solutions but still encounter real-time protection provided by Malwarebytes, the error is not activated. Then you need to contact a technical specialist as soon as possible.
