Windows 10 was developed with the aim of developing an operating system to increase a user’s productivity. This is why modern Windows 10 computers have the ability to project their wireless displays on an external display. Microsoft has an application – Connect preinstalled and dedicated that helps another device project its screen onto the computer. But this characteristic is very sensitive. It will not work properly if it is not properly configured. And if a configuration does not work properly, an error is displayed – the projection has malfunctioned.
This error is caused by problems with the display driver, hardware errors, corrupted system files and more.
Repair the wireless signal
To correct the projection error, try to minimize interference from other wireless devices such as routers or access points by removing them from the device you want to project onto.
- Make sure that your Windows device is visible to your projection device.
- Disconnect your Windows device from the Wi-Fi network.
- Log in to the screen.
- Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
- You may need to set your Wi-Fi router to another channel.
Undo all recent changes
If the projection has already worked, and after some software or hardware changes, the function did not work, and the projection error went wrong, there is something you can do about it.
The installation of new software may change the projection configurations.

Resetting firewall settings

Update device drivers
The pop-up window appears because the system may not be able to recognize the monitors. I suggest that you update the display drivers, as this could force the system to detect the available monitors. Here are the steps:
- Press “Windows + X” and select Device Manager.
- Locate the driver and expand the driver icon.
- Right-click on the driver icon and click Update.
