Checking the Internet Connection

Many Windows update problems occur due to low and unstable Internet access. Make sure the connection is fast and reliable and does not cause interference. Also make sure that the connection to the meter is not enabled, and disable it if it is.

Disable the dial-up connection:

  • Click the available Wi-Fi icon on the right side of the taskbar, and then select Properties under the network name.
  • When the associated settings page appears in a separate window, scroll down a little and disable the toggle to Set as measured connection.

Use the Default Windows Update Troubleshooter

  • Press the “Gain + I” buttons to open the settings.
  • Click the Update and Security button > Troubleshooting > Windows Update
  • Then click on “Perform Troubleshooting”.
  • This is a long-term program that says “Detect problems”.
  • At the end, the “Troubleshooting Complete” window opens.
  • Problems encountered can be viewed here.
  • When they are repaired, you will see a green tick in front of them.
  • Otherwise, you will see a red checkmark.

  • Enter services.msc and click ok,
  • This opens the Windows Services console
  • Scroll down and find the Windows Update Service,
