After the installation of the containers, Firefox works normally, the containers work well. Turn off Firefox, restart win7, start Firefox – Error “Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded, It may be missing or inaccessible.” Immediately after clicking on ok Firefox starts normally, everything “works” until you click on “new tab”. After clicking on the new tab, Firefox freezes and a new popup “Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible” appears, click OK, Firefox opens and you are working normally. The next time you click on the button to create a new tab, the same thing happens.

The error “Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded” means that the browser has not found the folder where your profile is stored. This may mean that the folder has been deleted, moved or that the files in this folder have been corrupted.

Firefox stores your data and user settings in a special profile folder and retrieves information from that folder each time Firefox is started. The default folder for the profile is located in the ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles folder.

You must check the permissions and owner of the profiles.ini file and the Profiles folder.

You will find the profiles.ini file in this hidden location:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder, so make sure you look in the right place.
Storage location for the main profile that stores your personal data (root directory on about:profiles).

~/library/support application / Firefox/Profile///

Location of the disk cache and other temporary files in AppData\Local (local directory on about:profiles).

~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profile// Library

Delete existing profiles

If this still doesn’t work, try deleting the profile.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile:

  1. Make sure that Firefox is closed.
  2. Press the Windows+R key to open the Run field.
  3. Type : APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox
  4. Click OK Delete profile.ini file.
  5. Restart Firefox

Deleting Mozilla’s cache

Caching on Windows and other operating systems is used to improve application performance. It allows applications to load faster. However, in some cases, the cache may be damaged or corrupted. If this happens in the Firefox browser, you will see the message “Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded, it may be missing or inaccessible”. This also happens when Firefox cannot find or access the profile folder. Fortunately, there is an easy way to solve this problem with the Firefox profile.

In a terminal window, type the following command:

killall firefox

This ensures that there are no instances running on the browser. You can also make sure that there are no instances running Thunderbird by using the killall thunderbird command. If you get a message like “firefox: no processes found”, it is safe to ignore it, because it only means that no instances have been executed. When you are finished, execute the following command from the terminal:

rm -rf.cache/mozilla/*

Press Enter and as long as you don’t see any results, you can be sure that the files have been deleted because you don’t need root access to delete them. Thunderbird cache files live in this directory, so this command deletes them all at the same time. Any relevant hardware deleted by this command will be automatically replenished when you restart your browser.
