  1. Attach the Windows installation CD to the virtual machine (Parallels Desktop Main Menu -> Devices -> CD/DVD Rom).
  2. Change the virtual machine boot order to boot from the CD (Parallels Desktop top menu -> Virtual Machine -> Configure -> boot order)
  3. Start the virtual machine.
  4. Immediately after starting the VM, press Control+Option+Command+Command+R and accept manual mode.
  5. After unlocking your console, capture the inputs and press any key to start the VM from the CD.
  6. When you see a first Windows prompt, type “R” to enter the recovery console.
  7. In the recovery console, wait for a prompt to select your installation, type “1” followed by “Return” and enter the administrator password.
  8. Execute the following command :Disable intelppm
  9. The current status of the SERVICE_DISABLED service is displayed.
  10. Exit the recovery console by typing’exit’.

You may also be able to do one of the following:

– Renamed C:\Windowsystem32\drivers\intelppm.sys en intelppm.no-sys.

– Delete or rename the Intelppm.sys file in the system32 drivers. You can do this from the Recovery Console.

– Boot from the Windows CD-ROM and boot the recovery console on the target partition. Enter ‘disable intelppm’ to disable the driver. fresh start
