This usually means that you are trying to download a file in an unsupported format in JW Player. A common case is downloading a .wmv or .mov video that does not use the H264 video codec.

This error occurs in older versions of the JW player. Newer versions of the drive will display error codes that you can use to correct the error. We recommend that you update your player.

Try to play the video in another browser

If your videos cannot be played in your current browser, consider playing the same video in a different browser. Your browser may not play videos efficiently due to compatibility issues. If you switch to another browser, you can play the video. While this may not be your favorite option, it is definitely a solution.

If you were able to stream the video in a different browser, you may experience issues in your primary or preferred browser. However, there is a way to fix this problem with the browser and play the video.

Disable proxy or VPN services

According to some affected users, bridging through the JW player might fail with error 23011 because there is currently a VPN or proxy connection on your network that the web server does not like.

Some users facing the same issue confirmed that they solved the problem by disabling the proxy server, VPN connection, or removing the VPN at the system level.

Disable Privacy Badger or any other extension / add-on

According to some Firefox and Google Chrome users, this issue can also occur due to an extension (in Chrome) or an add-on (in Firefox). In fact, Privacy Badger and several other extensions / add-ons interfere with JWPlayer and prevent video from playing.

Typically VPN / proxy components and even some protection extensions like Malwarebytes cause this issue. Of course, there may be others that we did not talk about. Therefore, you will have to conduct your own research and experiments.

Once you find your potential culprit, follow one of the following tutorials (A for Chrome and B for Firefox) to remove the problematic extension.

Disable hardware acceleration

Typically, the processor is responsible for performing tasks on the computer. However, when the processor is overloaded with tasks, the computer may freeze while it is running. Hardware acceleration is a feature that allows the browser to access other GPUs on the computer and balance the load on the processor to keep it in good working order. However, it is believed that disabling hardware acceleration can fix error code 224003 for HTML5 video not found and allow you to play videos without errors.
