ShellExecuteEx failed; code1155 is a system error code that usually occurs when you cannot open a file. This is because your computer is attacked by malware or viruses, or because your antivirus program is in conflict with ShellExecuteEx.
ShellExecuteEx is an important function of the system routine. ShellEx has failed; code1155 only means that your system is at high risk. To avoid further problems and damage, you should do your best to remove existing viruses as quickly as possible.
Running the application as an administrator
If you encounter a Shellexecuteex Failed error when opening or installing an application, it can cause problems due to an unexpected shutdown of the application or the installation of an executable file that does not have administrator access.

- Press Windows + R to open a Run dialog box. In the Run field, type “mmsys.cpl” in the text box and press Enter to open the Sound screen.
- Once in the Sound window, select the Sounds tab from the horizontal menu. Then change the sound scheme to Windows Standard.
- Once the active sound scheme has been successfully modified, restart your computer and check that the problem is solved the next time you start it.
Start your computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.
- Press the Windows + C button, then click Settings.
- Click Power, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, and then click Restart.
- Click on Troubleshooting.
- Click on Advanced Options.
- Click on Startup Settings.
- Click Restart.
- Press the 5 key on your keyboard to activate the safe mode with network.
