Launch the Windows Update troubleshooter

  4. Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder to SoftwareDistribution.old.
  5. Go back to the command line and enter the following commands.
    net start bits

Deleting the Windows Update History

  1. Press the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard simultaneously to open the Run dialog box, and type services.msc.

  4. Then follow the steps below to delete the Windows Update history.
