Use incognito mode (private mode)

It turns out that for the majority of affected users who have encountered the error “There was an error when changing the profile” to Hulu, the solution is simply to run the same service in incognito mode (in Google Chrome). or privately to open the mode (in Mozilla Firefox).

This is more of a workaround than a suitable solution, but many affected users have successfully confirmed that they used this workaround.

If you’re looking for a quick solution, just click the action button in your browser and select “New window in incognito mode” in the new context menu that appears.

After successfully opening the private window, go to the Hulu home page and log back into your account. Note that your credentials will not be saved, because you are in the window in incognito mode.

Once you’ve successfully logged into your Hulu account, check if you can switch profiles without the same “There was an error when you changed your profile” error.

Turn off your old Facebook account from Hulu.

Another documented case that may cause the “profile change error” error in Hulu is that the user has logged into a Facebook account (or saved at least one cookie) through his browser and the old Hulu Account is also linked to the same Facebook account.

This creates an account conflict with Hulu, which will forcefully disable your account as soon as you access the profile page. Indeed, Hulu is used to looking for a Facebook account and eventually finds one that is not associated with the expected one.
