RECOMMENDED: Click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system performance

Recently, we talked about how to set up wireless networks under Windows. There are great tools on the market that will help you optimize your wireless experience. Although there are many, I am talking about five of them – the ones I found interesting. And yes, all the network tools for Windows 10/8/7 mentioned here can be downloaded and used for free.

Free wireless network tools

ZamZom, inSSIDer, Xirrus, Wireless Wizard, WeFi are free wireless network tools for Windows 10/8/7.

ZamZom Wireless Network Tool

February 2021 Update:

We now recommend using this tool for your error. Additionally, this tool fixes common computer errors, protects you against file loss, malware, hardware failures and optimizes your PC for maximum performance. You can fix your PC problems quickly and prevent others from happening with this software:

  • Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
  • Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
  • Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.

It is easy for anyone to hack into your wireless network and start connecting to the Internet. Although there are methods to secure your wireless connection, not all routers offer sufficient security when you connect to wireless networks. This free wireless network tool helps you check for unauthorized connections using your network.

Two scan modes are available: fast and deep scan. Quick scan is enough to search for unauthorized computers connected to your wireless network. When the scan is complete, Zamzom will show you a list of the IP addresses of computers using your network (see image above). Download it here.

inSSIDer Wireless Network Tool

inSSIDer helps you find wireless access points in your environment. In addition to indicating the presence of wireless networks, the wireless network tool also indicates the power of each network, the type of network and the data transfer rate.

You can sort the wireless network by MAC address, SSID, channel and other factors. inSSIDer also helps you troubleshoot cluttered Wi-Fi channels. Unlike the latter, the wireless network tool can give you continuous graphs of these networks so you can tabulate their performance over time. Available here.

Wireless Assistant

The Wireless Assistant scans your wireless network for performance issues and provides detailed reports on the various network elements. It can also perform diagnostic tests so you can repair your wireless network. It also provides continuous graphics so you can monitor different wireless networks and choose the one that best suits your use. Other features are the ability to eliminate malfunctions.

Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector

The Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector checks all active Wi-Fi networks in your area. It not only locates and verifies Wi-Fi, but also reports dishonest access points. Other features include support for Wi-Fi network management and troubleshooting. Download it here.

WeFi Wireless Networking Tool

It’s a tool that helps you decide where you are when you travel! The WeFi wireless networking tool shows you wireless access points by region/area and even street names. There is a built-in search feature that allows you to enter the zone name so that WeFi can find your Wi-Fi access points in that zone. You can choose between Auto-Connect and favourite Wi-Fi spots.

Other features include Wi-Fi cards and the Friend Finder. Wi-Fi maps are essentially Google Maps that show you the location of different Wi-Fi access points in a given area. You can also check the location of your friends with WeFi when they are online. Download it here.

Here are some of my favorite wireless networking tools for Windows. If you have your favorites, please let us know.
