To run the energy efficiency diagnostic tool, run cmd as administrator.

Enter the following on the command line :

powercfg -energy -output DirectorynameFilename.html

For example, I saved mine on the desktop as Power_Report.html.

powercfg - power output c:UserACKDesktopPower_Report.html

Windows tracks, monitors and analyzes your laptop for about 60 seconds and creates an HTML report where you specify.

If you simply type powercfg -energy and press Enter, the report will be saved in your System32 folder.

Generate a battery status report

The Power Efficiency Diagnostic Report could be very detailed and overwhelm a normal user. This report analyzes and displays your battery status and alerts you to warnings, errors and other information about your battery.
