HD Tune is a free disk utility and tool for Windows OS that checks the status of disks (internal, external or extractable) in a series of simple steps. The application measures not only the status but also the drive performance, scanning errors, health status and much more.

As soon as the program is started, the diagnostic tool displays the temperature in the task bar. After performing the appropriate tests, the user can view the average baud rate, SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) indicators and possible errors that may appear on the computer screen.

The application interface is very simple and displays data through a series of windows accessible through 4 different tabs. The tool also works well with other storage media such as USB sticks, memory cards, iPods, etc.

  • Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
  • Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.

Simply select the drive to be tested from the drop-down menu and select the desired tab (Benchmark, Info, Health or Error Scan). The 4 different tabs can perform the following functions,

Benchmark Tab : The HD Benchmark performs a benchmark test for each player installed on your computer. It provides details on the transfer rate, access time, CPU usage and burst rate.

Info– This tab displays details about the selected drive and the available S.M.A.A.R.R.T. attributes. You are free to choose which of them you want to display.

Health– Returns the current state of the selected drive according to S.M.A.R.R.T. attributes.

Troubleshooting tab– Scan reader for errors.
