Email clients tend to lag behind browsers in the introduction of new technologies, and SVG is no exception. SVG will have the lightest weight and best quality, but, as I said before, they are not yet fully supported by all email clients.

At first glance, email signing may seem less important, especially when compared to other parts of your organization. But if you take a closer look, you will notice that electronic signatures play an important role when it comes to marketing, branding or maintaining a good relationship with your customers. In addition, the disclaimers added to these electronic signatures may also protect you from legal problems. Remember that even the best written email can’t do its job if you’re not sure enough about the company you’re dealing with, so customer trust should be a priority for every employee in your organization. Surely a nice email signature that contains useful information is a great attempt to make a good impression. And if you combine a beautiful signature with an attractive marketing banner, the results can exceed your expectations.

What are SVG files?

SVG stands for scalable vector graphics file, which means you can rotate, color and resize the file without compromising image quality. Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, support the insertion and editing of SVG files.

As SVG file support grows, large email operators still do not support this default file format, despite the flexibility and benefits it offers.
You can always integrate an SVG image file into the email. It requires some knowledge of the browser’s HTML source code or you should calm down if you just follow the steps.

Note: Make sure you use Outlook in your browser. The default email or Outlook application does not support SVG signatures.

Step 1:

  • The very first step is to ensure that the desired image or signature is on an online image hosting site such as Imgur or TinyPic. For the purposes of this tutorial, we will use a random SVG signature from Google images.
  • Then right-click on the image and select Copy image address.
  • You can try saving this image and pasting it into Outlook as an online image, but this will indicate an error if it does not support this file format.

Step 2 :
Then go to the e-mail in which you want to insert this signature. Right-click in the empty area and click on Inspect. A new dialog box opens with a lot of HTML code. This code defines what you are currently viewing.

Step 3:

  • The next step is a little tricky. All the code you see here is for the layout of the web page. If you highlight different parts of the HTML code, this element will be highlighted on the web page.
  • Then, you must add an additional space after your last line. This creates an empty element in the HTML source editor.

Step 4 :

  • We will now edit this empty element and insert the HTML code for our signature.
  • Right-click on this item and select Edit as HTML. Once you have deleted all the previous content, insert the following HTML code.
