How to Change to Invisible Status in Discord

Sometimes this epic raid really takes you and all your attention in the game, or maybe you really need to focus on Sombra’s last clue to find the next step in the puzzle. Discord has 4 different online statuses that allow you to choose how you affect others and focus on other areas if necessary.

If you set yourself as Invisible, you will appear completely offline, but you can still access all the places of Discord as usual. This includes the ability to send messages to your friends without appearing online.

Of course, it only takes a second to disconnect from the Disagreement, but then you may miss important messages, calls for help or an interesting discussion. If you want to stay connected without telling everyone you are in the DnD, you can use the “Invisible” option instead.

If you know the DnD, you will understand that the colored dots next to an avatar indicate user activity. Green for “online”, yellow for “inactive”, red for “do not disturb”, and the gray icon means you are not online. If you use the Invisible status for privacy, you appear offline.

How to Make a Channel Invisible on Discord

Private channels are not visible to people who do not belong to the groups to which you allow access. Invisible channels therefore do not even appear in the people’s channel list.

  • Tap the Cog icon next to the new channel you have already created.
  • Select the “Permissions” option from the menu list in the left column.
  • You will notice here that permissions for the “Everyone” role in the “Read Messages” section have been denied.
  • Only people who have been given permission when creating a channel will be allowed to do so.
  • If you want to get permission for a text channel or only for one voice channel at a time, you should check whether you have received permission for “Read Messages” or another permission such as “Login”.

Can you Tell if Someone is Invisible in Discord?

If you are a server administrator or even another user, can you tell if you have invisible users or if a particular user is invisible? The answer to both of these questions is no. An invisible user is for everyone. Even the server administrator can’t tell if there are invisible users on the server at any given time.

This is a minor problem if you are using a mismatch server and want to know peak and off-peak times by the numbers, or if you are planning an event or raid. So far, most administrators are working around and shouting or screaming DM. Messages, whether verbal or direct, are delivered to invisible users.
