The offline installer of the Microsoft Edge Chromium dev version, which is available for business and professional users, means that end users can install Chromium Edge offline on multiple computers.
The new Chrome-based Microsoft Edge browser is available for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows 10. It supports Chrome extensions, tracking prevention, translation, Internet Explorer mode, read-only view, support for dark mode, auto-play blocking, spell checking, and new options to customize the tab in preferences.
According to Microsoft, the Edge team is working behind the scenes to develop smooth scrolling, accessibility enhancements, grammar tools and AAD Sign Into Edge preview constructs.
To Download the Offline Installer for Microsoft Edge Chromium:
Microsoft provides an online installer to download the Microsoft Edge browser, which is small and does not contain complete installation files. When users run the online installer, an Internet connection is required at the time of installation to download the full installer. The online installer is also known as “stub”, “net” and “Web installer”.
If a user wishes to install Microsoft Edge on multiple computer systems, they must have an Internet connection on all computers to complete the installation because the online installer connects to Microsoft servers to download the required installation files. Running the online installer on multiple computers and wasting time and bandwidth on the Internet connection when downloading the installation files from the Internet can be inconvenient for users.
This is where the offline installer can help. The offline installer contains the entire installation program and does not require an Internet connection at the time of installation. Users can use the Offline Installer to install Microsoft Edge offline on multiple devices without requiring an Internet connection.

You can also download the policy files for the selected version or template from the same website. These policy files include ADM/ADMX files that can be copied to the %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions folder on your local storage device so that the new policies for Microsoft Edge (chrome-based) are displayed in the Group Policy Editor. Once this is done, you can manage the browser and its update settings directly from the Group Policy Editor by running gpedit.msc.
