I’m not very good with Linux, but I wanted to install Linux to learn more about it. But when I read the installation manual, I found it difficult. Then I found this little program called Wubi.
Wubi is an officially supported installer for Windows users that allows you to install and uninstall Ubuntu in a simple and secure way like any other Windows application. It’s like installing any program on our Windows. You don’t have to be a computer genius to install it. And if you want to remove it, just uninstall it from the Control Panel and it no longer exists.
Install Linux under Windows
Step 1 :
Download the Wubi installed on the Ubuntu website.
Step 2 :
Start the program and you will get this screen :
Step 3 :
Select the drive you want to install. Then select the size of the installation, i.e. how much you want to devote your hard disk to Linux. Then select the desktop environment, i.e. you must select the one you want to install.
Step 4 :
Enter the user name and password you want to use to connect to your Linux installation. When you are finished, click Install and you are done. The program downloads Ubuntu Linux from the Internet and installs it. The size is about 700MB.
Once the installation is complete, you will be directed to the Ubuntu login screen.
