The Chromium version of Microsoft Edge also includes a tab preview, similar to the tab preview bar available in the previous version, which allows you to hover over your open tabs to get to the right page faster, but this is still an experimental feature.

However, if you are using the stable version of Microsoft Edge, you can enable the feature on the advanced flag settings page.

This guide describes the steps for enabling and disabling tabbed browsing in the Chromium version of Microsoft Edge on Windows 10.

There are two types of tab previews that you can use.

  1. By clicking the ^ icon at the top of the Edge browser. This allows you to see the other open tabs and stay locked at the top of the browser. This method can be annoying for some users, especially if they are using low-resolution monitors.
  2. Another method is to move the mouse to the desired tab. When you move the mouse pointer to the expected tab, Edge shows you a small preview of that tab. This method can be both useful and pretty cool.

How to Turn on Tab Previews on Microsoft Edge

As it was created with Chrome, the activation of Microsoft Edge features is similar to that of Google Chrome.

Start Microsoft Edge, type or copy and paste the following into the address bar and press Enter

This will highlight the correct flag, which you must light.

Then simply select “On” from the drop-down menu.

Then make sure to click the “Restart” button after activating the hover maps for the change to take effect.

After the restart, you can now hover over your open tabs to see a preview of the page content. Currently, the page name and a short description of the page are displayed.

If you want to disable the hover map function, go back to the flag you enabled and set it to Disabled. Again, you will need to restart the browser for the change to take effect.
