After installing or reinstalling Microsoft Windows, you can find one, two, three or more basic devices in the Windows Device Manager. This happens if the card reader drivers are not properly installed on your laptop or computer. To solve this problem, locate the drivers on the media provided with your computer or on the computer manufacturer’s website. Many manufacturers will list these drivers in the Removable Media or Chipsets section.
This problem can also occur with the USB ports on the motherboard if your Windows installation does not correctly detect the USB ports. To solve the problem with USB ports, you can also try to find the USB drivers on the media provided with your computer or on the computer manufacturer’s website.
If your computer has a card reader, but the problem persists after installing the card reader drivers, there is another system device that Windows does not detect correctly. You will find other drivers available for your computer on the manufacturer’s website. Download the drivers and install each one to solve the problem and ask Windows and the Device Manager to detect all system devices on your computer.

- Download the Intel chipset installation software from the Intel website. Make sure that the version matches your operating system.
- After downloading and decompressing it, double-click on the exe file to start the installation process.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
