A beta of Destiny 2 is underway ahead of the console’s full release in September on PS4 and Xbox One, but a cryptic error code called “Olive” degrades the experience for many players. Bungie is aware of the bug and is working to fix it. In the meantime, there are a few workarounds you can try if Olive turns out to be a hindrance.

What is the Olive Flaw in Destiny 2?

“Olive” defies easy interpretation. While Bungie may not know what’s going on under the hood of its Destiny 2 beta, the developer has yet to reveal the exact cause of the crash. Olivia seems to hit different players at different times. A complaint posted on the Bungie forums mentions a bug in the middle of the cutscene. Others reported an error code that interrupted them during gameplay and restarted them on the character select screen.

While Bungie says you keep working, we just need to restart the game every time we get an error. Of course, you need to be patient to do this, as it is a slow process and if it happens from day one, prepare wisely for a few strong days.

When we encounter this error, the first thing that comes to mind is a panic reaction because we are stagnating. On the other hand, we may feel uncomfortable because we are upset because we want to know what’s new with this expansion for Destiny 2.

Sign in to your Bungie account

Often the Olive error code in Destiny 2 is associated with a case where the user is not logged into a Bungie account. Several affected users who also experienced this issue confirmed that the issue was resolved after signing in with a valid Bungie account.

If you haven’t already, restart Destiny 2 and follow the instructions when prompted to create a Bungie Account. After you have done this and verified your account, take part in the online game and see if the issue is resolved.

Reboot PC / Console

If you’ve never tried this before, starting this troubleshooting guide should be done with a simple platform reboot. It has been confirmed to be effective on Windows and current generation consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4).

On PC, just close the game and hit the Windows button on Power> Restart. Then wait for the next launch to finish before restarting the game.

Restart your Windows computer

On consoles, rebooting is not enough as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One store temporary files that are not deleted by a normal restart. So every time you run into a problem on the console, you need to turn the power off and on again.

Usually, you just need to exit the game and restart it. If this happens again, we will have to restart the console to do the cleanup, as this is one of the setbacks that exist in the game.

We hope you find our guide helpful and that you can fix this code error in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep.
