Many Windows 10 users report that they cannot download certain games or applications from the Microsoft Store. The error code that appears is 0x87E10BD0. In most cases, the error code is preceded by the error message “Something has happened and your purchase cannot be completed. In most cases, the error message appears within seconds of downloading a game or application. I know that the problem seems to be limited to Windows 10 only.
Reset the Windows store cache.
To do this, proceed as follows.
a. On the desktop, press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
b. Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.
Perform troubleshooting in the Windows store
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type WSReset.exe, then click OK.
- The shop opens and the following message appears: The shop cache has been cleared. You can now search for applications in the shop.
Log in with your Microsoft account.
If you encounter the problem when downloading an app, it is possible that the error may be triggered because you are not logged in with your Microsoft account. Several affected users reported that they had successfully resolved the problem by accessing the Accounts tab and logging in with their Microsoft account.
This solution is not obvious because Microsoft is not doing a good job of identifying the perpetrator. However, if you encounter the problem with apps or any other game when downloading from the Microsoft Store, follow these steps to make sure you are logged in with your Microsoft account.
Reconstruction of AUInstallAgent
It turns out that this particular problem can also occur due to a corrupted AUInstallAgent folder. Several users concerned reported that they were able to solve the problem after taking the initiative to restore the AUInstallAgent folder – essentially forcing the windows to create a new healthy folder from scratch.
Most problems with Microsoft Store are actually caused by a corrupted AuInstallAgent.
Perform network troubleshooting
Windows 10 offers an integrated network troubleshooting service. It can reset adapters, delete cache settings, etc. Make sure you run it, then try to download the installation file again.
