GTA V is the free game of the week on the Epic Games Store, and a lot of people are trying to log into GTA Online. For this reason, players may have longer than average loading times for GTA Online. Another problem is that GTA Online does not load at all and gets stuck at the “Join GTA Online” screen.

Many players find that GTA Online doesn’t load and gets stuck on the “Join GTA Online” screen.

One solution is to never load directly in online mode. This can cause the game to hang on the “Join GTA Online” screen for a while. You may find that GTA Online does not load at all, which could be.

Instead, start the game in single-player mode and switch to your online character using the character change wheel. This results in a minute or two of charging, compared to a direct charge, which can take 30 minutes.

We have a few more fixes you can try for loading problems. The solution does not work for all games, but there are some tips to speed up the loading process.

  • Find #gtadown on Twitter. Pay attention when users tweet about the possibility of GTA crashing to see if it was an ongoing problem or not.

Close all GTA 5 resources.

If the servers are working and the problem only occurs on your computer, the game is probably in an error state and cannot properly connect to the online servers. This happens with all types of games and game engines, such as Steam.

Here, in this solution, we open your resource manager and suspend GTA 5 services. If this does not work, we try to disable the game and see if it works.

  • Press Windows + R, type “taskmgr” in the dialog box and press Enter.
  • In Task Manager, go to the “Performance” tab and click on “Open Resource Monitor”.
  • Now find the process gtav.exe, right click it and select End Process.
  • Now wait for 10-15 seconds before right-clicking and resuming the process. Now you can switch to the game with the Alt-Tab key and see if you can connect online.

Reset your router

If the solutions listed above do not fix the error message, it is recommended that you perform network troubleshooting and see if the problem is related to your network. Since this error message is mostly due to the game not being able to connect to the game servers, either your connected network may not be configured correctly or there may be a problem with your internet service provider.

You can start by turning off and on your router and reconnecting. If that doesn’t work, you can reset your router completely. Make sure that you have the necessary credentials so that you can reconfigure the router according to the policies of your ISP.
