Reboot your computer
If you are having problems with applications on your computer, the first thing you need to do is restart your computer.
Yes, restarting your computer can often seem like a cliche, but it’s definitely one of those methods to try if you haven’t already.
Your operating system may have encountered a problem or temporary malfunction that prevents the applications on your computer from working properly. By restarting your computer, you will effectively restart your operating system and fix any errors or crashes.
To restart your Windows computer, follow these steps:
- On your computer, press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start menu.
- Then press the power button to open the power options menu.
- Finally, click Restart to restart your computer.
After that, wait until your computer has completely restarted and then try using the iTunes app again to see if iTunes error code 9039 is still appearing on your computer.
It is always recommended to check for updates and keep the iTunes software on your computer updated.
While iTunes will automatically detect an available update and notify the user to install an update, sometimes you also need to manually check for an update.
- Open iTunes> click Help.
- From the drop-down menu, click Check for Updates.
- You will be immediately shown if an update is available.
- If so, update it and you will be back on track.
Check your security software and firewall
If the above solution doesn’t work, the security software on your computer might be blocking communication with Apple servers. iTunes requires access to many network servers to complete sync and update. ITunes can be marked as antivirus software in these network directories. Research is required. So keep an eye on them.
- Go to your antivirus software and see if iTunes is blocked or not in the exclusion list.
- Access your firewall or, for Windows users, the Windows firewall. Make sure iTunes is on the exclusion list.
- Close virtualization applications, if applicable. This is especially true for blocking USB communication when it is out of date.
- As part of the software update, enable and ensure the security software is also installed.
