How to Fix Slack Notifications Not Working

Several users report that they do not receive notifications from Slack. Although widely considered the best team collaboration service, Slack has a long and painful notification delivery time. Whether it is the desktop version or the UWP (Universal Windows Platform) Slack version on Windows or the iOS application, this notification problem has existed for years.

What are the causes of notification problems?

We studied this particular problem on Windows by examining various user reports and repair strategies used by some affected users to solve the problem. From what we have collected, there are several fairly common scenarios that will trigger this particular problem:

• Cached data that is bad or corrupted.
• Browser settings or settings
• Windows or Mac system settings (do not disturb, quiet hours, etc.)
• Mobile devices or applications that interfere with notification.

Troubleshooting No notification received

Sometimes, your system settings interfere with the notification. So, if you do not receive any notification, follow these steps:

Check your settings for notifications and actions.

• In Windows 10, click on the Start menu.
• Select Settings and then System.
• In the right sidebar, select Notifications and actions.
• Locate Slack in the list and check that notifications are enabled.

Check the settings of the focus assistant.

• In Windows 10, click on the Start menu.
• Select Settings and then System.
• In the right sidebar, click Focus Help.
• Choose Off to disable the function. This allows you to receive notifications.

The same applies to this troubleshooting step of this Slack problem. You can do this for both the application and the classic Slack for Windows client. Of course, the procedure is different. All applications cache data to increase loading speed and ease of use.

However, once cached data is stacked, it can negatively affect and even slow down some of the application’s functions. It can also lead to delays in notification or even prevent the display of notifications, as in this scenario.
