Error 0x8007232b occurs when users attempt to activate Windows after installing the operating system from a volume license support, or when the KMS Activation Server has failed.
Depending on the version of Windows, users may not be asked to provide a valid product key during the initial installation. This behavior triggers error 0x8007232b when users attempt to perform activation using the standard Windows Activation Wizard.
Although these are in fact two different errors, they are essentially linked. As I mentioned briefly in the introduction to this article, these two error codes only occur when you try to activate Windows 8. In fact, these two error codes are so closely related that they have the same cause and therefore all possible solutions for error code 0x8007232b work as well as for error code 0x8007007b.
The error 0x8007232B usually occurs due to DNS server problems. Windows 10 could not access and activate Microsoft’s servers.
Change the product key to MAK.
If KMS activation is not used and there is no KMS server, the product key must be changed to MAK. For Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) or TechNet, the SKUs listed below are generally volume licensing media and the product key provided is a MAK key.
To change the product key to MAK, proceed as follows:
Open a highlighted prompt. Use one of the following methods, depending on your operating system.
At the command prompt, type the following command, then press Enter :
slmgr -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
Note The xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx placeholder represents your MAK product key.
Configure a KMS host server for the clients to be activated.
A KMS host server must be configured for clients to enable it. If no KMS host server is configured in your region, install and activate a KMS server key. Then, configure a computer on the network to host this KMS software and publish the domain name system (DNS) settings.
System file checker.
System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to search for errors in Windows system files and helps recover damaged / corrupted / missing files.
1. Move the mouse over the right edge of the screen, and then press Search.
2. Type “Command prompt” in the search box, right-click on Command prompt.
3. Click Run as administrator.
4. At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and press ENTER.
The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces corrupted files with a cached copy.
Note: Do not close the Command Prompt window until the scanning is 100% complete. The scan results are displayed when the process is finished.
All the solutions listed above are the most common and powerful solutions that will certainly solve the problem.
