Recently, we have heard of problems where the Xbox Game Pass subscription service seems to expire before the official date for some users.
What is the Xbox Game Pass?
For a low monthly price, enjoy unlimited access to more than 100 Xbox games – including some games for Xbox 360 and Xbox Original. Game Pass subscriptions are available on Xbox One and PC. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate works on both the console and PC and also comes with an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
An active Game Pass subscription is required to play games. Some games are only available to account holders over the age of 18. The games and the number of games offered may vary over time and across countries/regions and may not be available in all language regions.
How to repair Xbox Game Pass that expires prematurely
Automatic renewal of the previous subscription
If your Game Pass subscription is shorter than what you paid for, it is likely to have a lot to do with a previous subscription. As you can see, if your Xbox Game Pass subscription has expired, Microsoft will extend the service by a few days if automatic renewal is active.
In the meantime, Game Pass will attempt to collect payments from your funding source. For example, if after seven days, the service has not received any money, it will end. However, once you renew your subscription, Microsoft will deduct the last seven unpaid days from the duration of the new subscription.
Yes, it doesn’t sound good at all, but that’s what it is. As it seems, the best option you can choose here is to cancel the automatic renewal and renewal of the Xbox Game Pass on your own terms.
