Having gone through some of the commonly used recovery strategies to solve this problem, we concluded that the following reasons are among the most common ones to cause this error.

  • Stereo mixing: if you have not enabled stereo mixing on your computer, the game may crash due to an error. This may seem strange, but some users have found that enabling Stereo Mix on their computers fixes the BioShock failure problem.
  • Outdated device drivers: This problem may be caused if your drivers are outdated and other updates are available later. It is best to always update your drivers so that the latest games run smoothly.
  • Outdated version of Windows: if you have not updated Windows to the latest available version, you may have a problem with BioShock Remastered. It is best to install the latest Windows updates available on your computer as soon as they are released, so that they do not exist.
