You can return any Kindle book for a full refund, but there are some restrictions. Kindle books can only be refunded within seven days of the original purchase, and you can only refund purchases made on your Kindle immediately upon completion of the transaction. Refunds on other Kindle books and returns of borrowed books can be processed through Amazon.com’s digital content management system.
Most people don’t know this, but Amazon allows you to get a refund on a Kindle book you bought but wish you hadn’t. Instead of wasting time leaving a bad review, why not just get your money back?
This may never have happened to you before, but judging from the Amazon reviews we’ve seen, it must happen quite often. So don’t waste your time leaving a bad review and punishing the publisher because you accidentally bought the wrong book. Get your money back.
How to return a Kindle book: Immediately after you buy it.
Often you purchase Kindle books through your Kindle application or Kindle Paperwhite. The app is easy to use and allows me to buy a book as soon as you are interested in something.
The app also makes it very easy to return a book you bought by accident. If I realize within seconds of purchasing a Kindle book from my Kindle device that the purchase was a mistake, there are only two steps to correct it.
- Immediately after purchasing a book, a pop-up window will appear.
- Do you click on Accidentally Purchased? Cancel your order.
Just squeeze the lemon! In this case, a refund will be applied to the payment method associated with your account.
Returning a Kindle e-book via the Amazon website
If you proceeded from the purchase confirmation page, all is not yet lost. You have seven days to return the Kindle book you purchased.
However, after one week, you cannot return the book. The process of returning a Kindle book through the website is fairly straightforward. Just follow these steps.
- Go to Amazon and sign in to your account.
- Select “Content”.
- Search for the Kindle book you want to return.
- Click on the icon with the three dots to the left of the title.
- Select “Return for Refund”.
- Select a reason for return, then select “Return for Refund” again.
- You may go through this process as many times as you need, as long as it is within the seven-day period.
Life is too short to waste time with books you don’t like or don’t want to read – clean out your digital library.
