At the moment, you need permission to send messages to attach files. I think this really needs to be changed, because attached files should not be put in the same category as text messages.
Currently, you can set up a channel only for text messages, but not a channel only for attachments. If I wanted members to be able to only submit images/files and not send text messages, this is currently not possible.
Discord has upload restrictions for files that you can attach to your messages. The limit for a regular discord account is 8MB. The Nitro Classic subscription has a download limit of 50MB. The Nitro Discord subscription has a download limit of 100MB per file.
Discord Nitro Classic subscription is available for $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Discord Nitro Subscription is available for $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
Sending Files in Discord via PC
Sending a file via a PC is a very simple process with Discord. The + symbol is located on the left side of the text input field at the bottom of the window. Click on it. A file selection box will appear in which you can choose the file to download. Select your file and then click “Download”. If you check the Mark as spoiler box, the file with a spoiler image will be hidden. Remember that Discord has upload restrictions for files that you are allowed to send.
The icons to the right of the text input field are the gift icon, the gif icon and the emoticon icon.
You can use the gift icon to purchase a Discord Nitro account for a friend. The gif icon allows you to choose from a selection of animated gifs to display with your message. The emoticon icon allows you to select an emoticon.
That’s it! Don’t forget that for Discord to work in a super smooth and fantastic way, we need to keep all image files below 8MB and embedded media files below 8MB. Otherwise, you’re free to bombard your friends with Pokemon images as you please!
How to Bypass the Discord File Size Limit?
Unfortunately, there is no real way to get around the Discord file size limit, but you can compress files to reduce their size before uploading them to Discord for successful downloads. Another option is to switch to Nitro to increase the file size limit to 50 MB. It’s amazing, isn’t it?
For those who have never heard of Nitro, it’s a discord booster that gives you unlimited access to a wide variety of games. With its fantastic benefits, Nitro lets you enhance your voice, video, and text chats all in one with Discord.
If you want to share a discord file without Nitro, split your files into files smaller than 8MB using a compression tool, or simply upload them to another free file host and copy the link to the chat.
Change the Size Limit for File Uploads
