Microsoft Security Essentials is now available in 17 other markets, including India.
Microsoft Security Essentials, Microsoft’s free antivirus offering, will now be available in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, India, Jordan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates.
This brings the total number of markets in which Microsoft Security Essentials is available to 56
Microsoft Security Essentials will also be available in 2 new languages, Russian and Romanian, bringing the total to 11 languages.
In Windows 8, Windows Defender is actually Microsoft Security Essentials. Those who installed Windows 8 may have noticed that Microsoft has renamed Microsoft Security Essentials to Windows Defender. In its previous iterations, the first offered protection against viruses, the second against spyware. In Windows 8, Microsoft decided to combine these two protections into a single program and call it Windows Defender
