In companies, collaboration tools are highly appreciated because they allow everyone to stay in touch. A very good example is Microsoft Teams, a clean and completely free collaboration tool that is also part of the Microsoft Office suite but can also be downloaded separately.
Users connect to it and can therefore communicate with colleagues, send files and much more.
Unfortunately, Microsoft Teams sometimes encounter problems with the system, especially with connection problems. For example, users have reported receiving an error message when trying to connect to teams.
Use the Teams web application
The Login Teams web application to see if you can still log in to the web version. And try to check for updates for teams and clear the team desktop application caches by following these steps:
- Quit Teams completely.
- Right-click on the Windows icon, find and open the Run application.
- In the search box, navigate to the location: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams folder and click OK to go to that location.
- Delete the items below: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\teams\Cache
- Delete all items in the folder: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams\Application Cache\Cache
- Restart Teams
Restart Teams and Sign In Again
If the error occurs, close the windows and the following We’re sorry – we have encountered a problem window:
Click Logout and try to log in again, but with an intentionally wrong domain. Of course, it will fail, because the domain is not recognized. Try again with the correct name and it will connect successfully.
Perform a Clean Reinstall of Teams
- Press Start
- Press parameters
- Select an application
- Search for Microsoft teams in the list of installed programs
- Uninstall the following two programs:
- Microsoft teams
- Teams Machine Installer
- After uninstallation is complete, delete all files in the following locations:
- Go to the Microsoft team site, download and reinstall the client.
- Restart your PC
