The same can be done by changing the security settings. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the problem.

Try updating the Widevine Content Decryption Module. Check the plugin update. Make sure that the antivirus and firewall are disabled. This is essential because antivirus and firewall software can prevent the Widevine content decryption module from successfully updating itself. You can reactivate your security software after a successful update.

Verify that the Widevine Content Decryption Module plug-in is enabled. To check, enter chrome://components in the Chrome browser address field and press Enter.

Locate the Widevine Content Decryption Module component and select’Check for Update’.

Once the updated state component is visible, restart the Chrome browser and try Netflix again or in the address bar of the Chrome browser, type chrome://plugins and press Enter or Return on your keyboard.

Locate the Widevine content decryption module and select Enable.

If you do not find the option’Enable’, check the box next to the option ‘Always allowed to run‘.

Once the Widevine Content Decryption Module plug-in is enabled, try Netflix again.

Close all open Chrome browsers – this window too! You can print the following steps.

Close the Chrome browser and open the’Run’ dialog box.

Then enter %userprofile%/appdata/local in the text box and select the Google folder.

Then select the Chrome folder and select the User Data folder.

Now find the file Widevine Content Decryption Module and drag it to the trash.

Right-click the Trash and select Empty Trash.

Start the Chrome browser.

Type chrome://components in the address bar and press Enter.

Under the Widevine content decryption module, select Plug-in Check for an update.

Try Netflix again.
