PC PitStop PC Matic Home Security Check

September 2020 Update:

We now recommend using this tool for your error. Additionally, this tool fixes common computer errors, protects you against file loss, malware, hardware failures and optimizes your PC for maximum performance. You can fix your PC problems quickly and prevent others from happening with this software:

  • Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
  • Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
  • Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.

Once the software is downloaded and installed, it downloads the latest virus definitions. To change the default options, click the Options button. After defining them, you must now click the Scan button. The software then starts scanning for malware and outdated software.

Virus Protection

PC Matic Home Security uses the Vipre scanning engine and antivirus definitions, which have the VB100 price in their shopping cart among many other prices. The Viper engine has been approved by Threat Track in Clearwater, Florida.

PC Matic has built-in white list protection that blocks the virus and does not allow it to spread or transform. PC Matic Home Security also includes a blacklist as scanning and cleaning engine. This also includes the Cloud Scheduler. Your cloud scheduler allows the user to remotely schedule scans and cleanups and receive reports in the user’s inbox. Scanning takes a reasonable amount of time. He found a Trojan horse named trojan.win32.generic.win32.pak!cobra, which surprised me!

I went to the user interface to see if I could find the path to the file. There was no way of knowing which file I would delete if I decided to fix everything. Was it real malware? Or was it a false positive? A search on Bing led me to this link:

Trojan.Win32.Win32.Generic.pak!cobra or Trojan:Win32/Siref.M is a generic detection for a variety of malware that can affect 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems.

But this has not yet satisfied me. So I created a log file with an option in the program itself and went through the log. There, I discovered that our free HotShut software falsely identified it as malware. A clear case of false positives. Whew … it relieved me in some way, because what I read about the Trojan horse was unpleasant for me.

I would like the program to have a quarantine box where you can find more details about malware or suspects so that you can restore them if they were false alarms. I had to download HotShut again. I also wish there was a way to stop or stop the scan. The only way I found was to exit the program by clicking the’x’ button. Although it was possible to select a specific folder or file for analysis via the user interface, there was no context menu integration.

Vulnerability – Automatic patch management

PC Matic Home Security also includes the automatic patch management module. It is undeniable that in addition to the operating system, the installed software must always be updated. This PC module PitStop PC Matic Home Security is quite impressive.

He scanned my Windows 8 computer and found that I had an older version of Foxit PDF Reader. She offered to download and install the latest version. Once I said yes, he downloaded the latest version of Foxit, uninstalled my old version of Foxit and installed the latest version. Everything went very well.

Super Shield

The freeware also contains Super Shield, a real-time white list protection module. SuperShield is Pitstop’s exclusive real-time security technology designed to maximize your PC’s security.
