    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
  • Type these last commands in order and press Enter after each command to start the same services that were previously disabled:
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver
  • Type Exit at the command prompt to close it.
