The file or system backup recovery operation fails under Windows 7

There may have been times when you tried to restore files or system backups using the Control Panel’s built-in backup and recovery tool. Although most of them went smoothly, there may have been cases where recovery failed.

In cases where the recovery process has failed, you will notice that the Windows computer restarts automatically and you will receive the following error message when you restart:

System restoration has not been completed. The system files and settings on your computer have not changed.

An error code 0x80070057 can also be displayed.

Possible reasons could be that the player is damaged. You can try system recovery again and select another recovery point.

To solve this problem, you can repeat the recovery process after running chkdsk /R on this hard disk.

If this fails, you can download and apply Microsoft patch 2569601.

Microsoft confirmed that this is a problem in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. To apply this patch, you must run Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
