  1. Type ‘Powershell’ in the search field of the Cortana application.
  2. Right-click on Windows PowerShell and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Type this command in PowerShell:
    Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage
    Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
  4. Press the Enter key after making the above entries.
  5. Restart Windows.
  6. As an administrator, open PowerShell as before.
  7. Then type Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml”} in PowerShell.
  8. Press Enter.

Reset the Xbox application

  • Press Windows + R to open a Run dialog box. Then type ‘ms-settings:appsfeatures’ in the text box and press Enter to open the App & Features menu.
  • In the Apps & Features menu, go to the right pane and scroll down the list of applications until you find the Xbox application. Once you have seen it, click it once, then click on Advanced Options.
    On the Xbox application’s Advanced Options menu, scroll to the Rest tab and click Reset to start the process.
  • When prompted to confirm, click Reset again to reset the application.
  • Once the process is complete, restart your computer and check that the problem is solved the next time you start it.
