Fixed an unexpected configuration problem with your printer.
Resetting the printer
- Turn on the printer.
- Wait until the printer is inactive and mute before continuing.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
- When the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
- Turn on the printer if it is not automatically turned on.
- The printer can go through a warm-up period. The printer lights may blink and the cart may move.
- Wait until the preheating is complete and your printer is inactive and silent before continuing.
- Replace the ink cartridges, then close the ink cartridge cover.
- If you are prompted to print a calibration page, do so.
- If you have disconnected the USB cable, reconnect it to the back of the printer.
- Try to print
Reinstall the printer driver and software.
Existing incompatible printer drivers and software must be removed and the printer reinstalled with the latest drivers and software. Always download printer drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
To troubleshoot the printer
As some users have pointed out, this integrated utility has the potential to automatically solve the problem if the problem is covered by one of the many automated repair strategies covered by printer troubleshooting.
Once the printer troubleshooting is started, the utility analyzes your current situation and determines if one of the predefined repair strategies is applicable in this situation. If it is a correspondence, you will be asked to apply the correction. If all goes well, the problem will be solved with a minimum of effort.
Here is a brief guide to using the printer troubleshooting process:
- Press Windows + R to open a Run dialog box. Then type “ms-settings:troubleshoot” and press Enter to open the Troubleshooting tab of the Application Settings.
- On the Troubleshooting tab, go to the Start and Start tab and click Printer. Then click on the Run Troubleshooting button.
- Wait until the initial analysis period is complete, then click Apply this correction if a repair strategy is recommended.
- Once the process is complete, close the troubleshooting window and make sure you always receive the same error message when you try to print something from your default printer.
